Our Story

A desire to bake traditionally using organic and local produce led Greg and Angie to start the patisserie in 2010.  Over the years, the business has grown from its beginnings providing market shoppers with fresh pastries at the Byron and Mullumbimby Farmers Markets, and wholesale pastries around the Byron Shire, to include a shop in Mullumbimby selling their range of specialty cakes, tarts and pastries.

With each new stage of the business the Scratch Patisserie family has grown, and now includes a great team of skilled traditional bakers, pastry chefs and cheery front of house staff, as well as two little Wiltons who are a dab hand with the beaters.

Our food

Everything at Scratch Patisserie is made from Scratch, using quality ingredients.  A passion for the trade and a love of simple, delicious food has always been fundamental in the creation of all our products from our crusty baguettes to our almond croissants and gourmet sausage rolls.  Ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible favouring organic, artisan and independent suppliers throughout Byron Shire with some products even sourced from the family property.

Coffee + not coffee

Our specialty coffee is from Allpress and we use their organic blend to provide you with a smooth but punchy coffee. We also use Organic Norco Milk as we believe it gives you a better tasting coffee with no nasties. Not a coffee drinker? We have plenty of other delicious options for you including Grounded Pleasures Chai, Bun Coffee Organic Hot Chocolate, Simara Blends Turmeric Latte,Beetroot Latte or Matcha Latte. We can also make an iced version of any of these drinks.
